The Avon YMCA tasked us with bring their very faded parking lot back to life without disrupting their members trying to access the facility that's open 24/7. We were able to complete it section by section without any disruption to members and create some great before and after photos!
Having properly marked and visible ADA handicap parking spots goes a long ways! You wouldn't believe the amount of people we've seen park in faded handicap spots or directly in the crosshatch or access aisles! These areas are required by law because people using handicap spots usually need access to a wheel chair or walker and need the required 5' or more to get in and out comfortably. The Avon YMCA parking lot's handicap section went from barely visible faded white symbols to vibrant two-color blue and white clearly marked spots.
A place like the Avon YMCA has consistent traffic flowing in and out from 6AM-10PM, and sometimes gets a little hectic with other traffic from the Lake Erie Crushers stadium right next to it. This parking lot had 12 large directional arrows that were pretty faded leading to people driving the wrong way and potential safety issues. We were able to bring all the arrows back to life with a couple coats and make sure they were visible to everyone keeping things flowing the correct way.
